Licensed haulers are required by ordinance to offer recycling to their customers. OR Bring your recycling to Hatch Hill Landfill off South Belfast Avenue in Augusta. You will need to purchase a permit at the weigh shack at Hatch Hill, make sure you have your vehicle registration showing you're a Manchester resident. The permit costs $15 and it's good for 2 years, which is about $0.70 a month. A permitted vehicle means the Scale House knows the vehicle and they don’t have to stop you each time for an ID. The vehicle and the corresponding material weight get recorded in the Scale House computer program. At the end of the year (or any set period, for that matter), Augusta can run a report for Manchester permits and see how much material Manchester residents brought in.
